I hate TV with a passion. I do not own a TV. I like to sit around my apartment in a chair, not looking at a screen...and it makes me so happy that I don't own a TV. When I think about how I don't own a TV, it makes me so happy I just get this huge grin on my face.

I also think not owning a TV makes me better than everyone who does own a TV. It is the one undying source of confidence in my life. Whenever I think I am worthless, my life is for nothing, I realize that I don't own a TV, and thus am better than all those worthless scums who sit glued to the idiot-box all evening long, who always turn it on when they're home alone. I know I'm better because I can turn on my radio, put on a CD, or sit down at the internet, or just plain sit down in my chair and look out the window and think.

Even though I normally try to fill my life with love and happiness, sometimes I like to gloat in my anger towards TV and play out fantasies in my mind, like smashing TV's with a hammer, or throwing TV's off the roof of tall buildings. TV's are the most heinous, evil devices ever invented, and deserve the most evil, destructive treatment.

I think if I were ever made supreme dictator of the world, the first thing I would do would be to destroy all TV's. Not one would be spared. Oh...such a happy thought...what a wonderful world that would be!

I don't hate TV, but I hate a lot of the programming on TV nowadays. I hate sports on TV. I hate these so-called "reality" shows like Survivor. I hate daytime TV programming. I'm very picky about what I watch on TV anymore because I think about half of it is crap.

I love a good movie if I can find one to watch. I watch anything with a sci-fi/fantasy theme. I love British comedy when I can find it! I like some sitcoms and one-hour dramas if I'm in the mood to watch TV. I also like to watch documentaries, especially wildlife or nature documentaries.

So, I don't have cable or satellite because I don't really watch enough TV to make it worthwile. I have a TV antenna on a 20-foot tower, which is anchored at one corner of the house near the front porch.

I love TV. I could sit in front of it all day, it's entertaining, you can learn things, or you can kindlesssly space out for hours.

... the trick is to not let yourself do this. I don't have a problem with TV and watching it, I have a problem when people spend 90% of their free time planted on their ass in front on the TV.

So, cazort, was eph right? I would have also guessed your outlandish statements were satirical. By the way, eph, The Princess Bride is my favorite movie of all time. Talk about satirical... That is what I watch when there aren't any good shows on my three tv channels. Anyway, I'm glad to know I'm not the only cable-free freak in the western hemisphere like my friends try to lead me to believe.

I think over the past couple weeks, the only two channels I've watched on a steady basis are the local PBS station and the local FOX station. I usually only watch TV for an hour or two after I get home from work at night. I work second shift, so I just turn on the TV after I get settled in and set the sleep timer. In no time at all, I fall asleep. If I try to leave the TV off, then I just lay there for an eternity trying to sleep. It's weird.

I get the impression that cazort is just making a parody. Cazort is making fun of people who brag about not owning or watching TV.

No, believe it or not, I do not own a TV, and I am also this self-righteous (at least when it comes to this issue).

I also like to eat a lot of swiss chard. But unlike the lack of TV ownership in my life, I do not believe that my high-chard diet makes me a better person.

The Simpsons are the only thing on tv that's remotely even entertaining anymore. Thank gawd for the Simpsons- and hockey sometimes!
There's too much reality and tabloid crap out there. Michael Jackson is like the microwavable plastic man and sick of seeing him. I don't know who I hate more: Kobe Bryant or his female fans. I didn't have access to tv, the internet, or english speaking people for two days from a move, and it makes me proud to say I was the ONLY one in America who didn't know that Britney Spears had gotten married and divorced. How cool is that?
