Anyone know of a website or a good place to find a wingman? All of my male friends are married and there wives don't let them go out as a wingman, even if its just to help a buddy. Any suggestions would help.

Dan Savage's last column said the best wing man is a gay man (as long as you aren't his type and/or haven't overestimated your attractiveness to gay men) - no competition and in theory, fearless/unthreatened when talking to females.
Craigslist would be a good starting point for finding wingmen (gay or straight).

Oh, excellent point, us women love gay men! That's definitely an easy way to get "in" with girls at a bar or something.
Plus, it generally reflects positively on the straight guy for being secure enough to hang out with a gay guy.

I love Dan Savage, but Glamour Magazine's Dear Jake called that one a year ago. Maybe Dan's reading Glamour.

I also read Entertainment Weekly cover to cover.
(As well as Utne, Mother Jones, and all that. Don't worry.)

I used to, back when I got it. I loved that magazine.

Somehow, I doubt that was an epiphany for Savage or something he read off Glamour.

what about a female friend? obviously a 'non-threatening' one. and by non-threatening, i do not necessarily mean 'ugly,' i just mean someone who is very obviously just a friend, and is friendly with strangers. i get into conversations with random people when out all the time and i'd be delighted to introduce single male friends to cute girls i meet in the bathroom line or whatever, and have done so successfully in the past!

I personally steer clear of guys who come in with girl "friends" who I have no way of knowing are just "friends." So I'm not sure a female wingman would work.

How did I read that sentence:
"Hey John, come in to the women's bathroom, there's someone I want you to meet"
LOL

i guess you're right... she would have to be someone who was not so much a 'wingwoman' as someone who was actively introducing you to people. which is i guess more what i was saying...

I've gone out with some female friends before and it never works because most people will think you are together.

Honestly? Sounds like you need to make a concerted effort to make some new single guy friends period. Not to denigrate your friendships with the married dudes, but it's never a bad idea to have at least a few friends in the same place/stage of life as you are.
