View Full Version : Can't Rely on Coworkers Anymore.....

I was so mad today at work. One of my clients came to tour our facilities today and everyone in my department knew it. The person who normally backs up my work also was going on the tour. So I thought I found three people who could cover my work while I was going on the tour with the client. One person who was going to cover my one client load ended up being gone today (he failed to mention that when he told he that client could be forwarded to him.), the person who was going to do my paperwork decided to cover someone elses work this afternoon, and the person who was going to cover the rest of my work decided she didn't need to check my emails after 4:15 today. So after my client left, I was left with a thick pile of paperwork and plenty of emails as well as clients who think I'm incompetent. It's a good thing I had my out-of-office on to show I had limited access to emails. But still, if you say you can cover my work, I'm relying on you. They always say we work as a team, what happened to the team here?

I'm also probably too nice because I ended up on an 18 minute phone call with a pissed off applicant for a client that the person I back up should have taken because they transferred the call to her first. How do I not let people walk over me without turning into a Bitch??

I'm also afraid I'm gonna end up getting fired over all of this because a couple of my smaller clients absolutely, without a doubt, hate my guts and I could never please them.

I'm sorry for freaking out, but I'm seriously upset about all of this!

I hope you're planning on saying something to the coworkers who dropped the ball.

One thing I've really had to get better at for my own professional growth is making sure people are accountable for their ball-dropping. I'd be held accountable if I did it, and fair's fair.

I want to, but I'm not really sure how to go about it without being a bitch or sounding whiney. I'm definitely going to ask why that guy said he could do one client, then was gone. Thank god for a senior advocate who helped out a bit.

Firm, but not bitchy.

Actually, put out, bordering on bitchy wouldn't be inappropriate. They made YOU look bad. Not cool.

That's true. I guess I'll definitely find out what was up with my paperwork and that one guy. Not sure how I'll handle the other chick who was going to cover the rest of my emails. She did pretty good, but I guess I'll have to figure out how to mention to her about my emails after 4..... But this will all have to come after I finish catching up and hopefully cleaning up the messes from today...... ugh, I really don't look forward to tomorrow.

It's a dang good thing I really like where I look for the most part. It's almost to my disadvantage with how laid back I am when it comes to other CSRs running me over....
