Okay, so this chick at work gave me a really nice Ann Taylor suit jacket that did not fit her anymore. She brought it in so I could try it on and it fit really cute, but it needed to be dry cleaned. I said I'd get it cleaned, but she insisted she'd do it. Well I was looking in her desk for a file and saw it balled up in the drawer. Am I allowed to take it and get cleaned myself? Does it belong to me yet??

I really want to wear it next week :(

I wasn't snooping around or anything. She had a file that she was supposed to return for an investigation i'm completing and she is on vacation. I was instructed by our boss to get the file.

Jeez, maybe she forgot to take it to be cleaned before she left for her vacation. I say, it's not yours until she hands it to you and tells you to take it. So, looks like you're waiting until she gets back.

I'm thinking it's not yours yet. Which sucks, since she's taking her time about dry cleaning it and you don't mind taking care of that yourself.

i'd say it doesn't belong to you until she hands it to you and says 'here, have it.' she probably wants to get it dry cleaned bc she'll feel bad if she gives it to you dirty... i say give her a chance to feel generous and get it dry cleaned for you.

stand around looking cold and then she'll realize she hasn't given you her jacket yet :huge:
