Can you register to vote at the post office? I normally do it through the DMV, but I move and I'm not near a DMV.

You're probably too late, Kitty. From your Sec. of State:
"In California, the deadline to register to vote for an election is 15 days before each local and statewide election day, so please register early!"

Oh, yeah, if you're in CA, the deadline was Oct 23 - I remember hearing a bunch of ads and news stories that day about it.
Don't know abuout the post office thing, though

In Texas you can also get voter applications online or at libraries. I don't know about anywhere else.

Evidently, you can do it online in Cal., too, but you still have to do it by the deadline.

You still have to mail it in, though. So, I don't really see any benefit to doing it online.
I think that I can actually do an absentee vote. the dealine is today.

I guess just not having to go somewhere and get the forms.

Libraries usually have voter registration forms too. I sent mine in for a change of address since the last election... about 3 weeks ago in fact... and I still haven't received my new voter registration card. Ugh....

My situation was interesting...I registered when I got my Mass license, but I forgot about it. A few weeks ago, I found out that the stupid RMV (not DMV) clerk put my address wrong on my license, so I had to get that fixed. I forgot about my voter's registration card. Fortunately, it looks like that's all squared away.
