After the big mess I got myself in here (http://www.quarterlifecrisis.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23472)
I was talking to one of my friends and he made a point I never thought of before.
"One doesn't feel love, but one knows love"
How many of you agree with this?
That love isn't a feeling , only something you can know.

Um, you know you're in love because you feel it?
I dunno. Because love is an emotion, I'd go with feeling over knowing. Simply because you don't rationalize emotions.

I'm going with feel. How do you know love? You feel it.

I think you can know things without needing to say them, but it comes from a feeling. How can you know something without feeling it? It's like pain, you can't say you know it unless you feel it.

If love is the rush of endorphins to your brain that you get when you feel intimate with someone, then I'd say that love is something you experience.

Why does it matter what love is? Love is only what we THINK it is; and we think of what it is by how we feel (so I say you can't know love until you at least felt it).
Anyway, there is this really old song by Vanessa Williams and Brian McKnight called "Love is". I heard this song many years ago and still love it...part of the lyrics is
"They say it's a blessing, they say it's a gift
They say it's a miracle
And I believe that it is
It conquers all, but it's a mystery
Love breaks your heart
Love takes no less than everything
Love makes it hard
And it fades away so easily"
Not sure why I suddenly want to quote it  , but I always thought that's a nice song.
