Not sure where this one should go, oh well, here goes...

Ladies, how do you cover up redness in your cheeks? My cheeks get really red when I am drinking, and when I am nervous. I use this mousse cover up stuff because it's light, but I hate how I get so red when I am out drinking and having a good time. I go into the bathroom and see how awful I look and it just gets me down. Does anyone have any tips for covering the red, any heavy duty foundation suggestions? Thanks!

Dim lighting. ;) I get red too, but I'm pretty much over the embarrassment.

I really don't. It's a natural thing. It happens when your capillaries are close to your skin.

Rosacea causes ruddy cheeks, too. My grandma has it (I always thought she looked cute and pink-cheeked, though).

I blush lots. I'm used to it.

I wouldn't worry about it. Plus if you're noticing it while you're out drinking, you're just not drinking enough. ;)

Benefit's bluff dust. I'm white though, not Asian, so I don't know if it would work for you.

Alternately, don't drink so much.

keep drinking until you stop caring? take up another destructive habit? hang out with people of irish/english descent so you all blend in?

my mom gets really red when she drinks and we all think it's adorable.

I was thinking of this too. There are some things you can do to help make this better (like cut down on alcohol and caffeine).

Green concealer under your regular foundation will combat the redness.
A makeup artist used green foundation all over the face of a bride I know who got a little too much sun. It worked.

Just out of curiosity, why do you want to cover it? :)

Sorry, I don't have any tips since I don't cover it up. On the contrary, I love it when I blush, or when my cheeks turn red because it doesn't happen often, but not at inopportune times (like while I am giving an update to my team). :0

I have this problem as well. While I think it is hideous, others tell me it is cute. But I always try to cover it. I got one of those mall makeovers in high school, and she said people with rosy cheeks should stick to brownish blushes rather than pinks. I personally never wear blush, but I do remember that did help when she did it. She also said sometimes you need to use a different color foundation on your cheeks than elsewhere on your face, usually a bit darker on your cheeks.

I can't speak for the OP, but I want to cover it up because it is embarassing/annoying. It happens when I work out, when I drink, when I laugh. People always think I am embarassed or that they have to watch what they say around me because they think I am offended or uncomfortable when my face turns red.

I think I have rosacea, but have never been to a derm to find out for sure.

I turn really, really red all over when I workout too. It can take over an hour to get back to normal. I don't like it, but there is nothing I can do.

I don't have red cheeks, but my nose and neck get very red at times. My nose turns bright red, and my neck gets all blotchy and red when I'm nervous, upset, or when I've been drinking. I'm really self-conscious about it, since people usually ask - in a well-meaning way: "are you okay? What's wrong with your neck? Oh, your nose is bright red, too! Did you know that?" To detract from the redness of my nose and neck, I usually wear light colored turtleneck sweaters in the winters, or light-colored, high-necked tops, if it's warm outside. I've found that fewer people notice the redness if I'm wearing light colors, as opposed to dark colors.

Same here, or if I get really hot. People always ask, are you okay?!

Yeah, me too. But there's nothing I can do about it, besides making sure that I am ok, etc., so I just deal. (And splash some cold water on my face in the ladies' which doesn't really help but feels great.)

Ohhh yes. My cheeks are almost purple. It's just how close your blood vessels are to the top layer of your skin.

Rosacea is a skin condition--not all red-cheeked syndomes are rosacea.

I hate it because I think it looks awful. I look at pictures from when I am out drinking with my friends and I look like a friggin clown! I do agree with Wordsmith though, my grandmother had really rosy cheeks too, and I think she was absolutely adorable.

I don't drink alot, and I don't drink coffee alot, so it can't be due to either of these factors. Oh well, I guess it is just something I have to live with!

It could also be from the heat of the bars, you know all the people in there...

Muahahah I was just about to post "Asian Glow!!!!!" before I saw this post, Shimma!!

As someone who gets red while drinking, honestly, I don't care. I skip wearing blush if I know I'm going to drink to minimize the redness but either way I don't care that I'm red. If I have to hide my red cheeks to show I"m not drunk, well, it'll take a lot more than cover up to hide the fact that I've been drinking :huge:

And yea, stay away from bright lights when taking pictures :)

does this thread make anyone else think of the grey's anatomy episode where the girl was so dead-set on having that surgery to keep her from blushing all the time? i think she had some sort of disorder that made her turn 10 shades of scarlet at even the teeniest hint of emotion or something...

I totally get the "Asian Glow" when I drink. But the sad part is that I my skin tone is on the darkers side, so the color of my face when I've had a few drinks looks really weird! LOL
