When you unexpectedly get to meet Hot Radio Guy.
Every November, I have to attended a boring as balls annual dinner where a bunch of awards are given and A. report at it, and B. present an award my paper sponsors. That was tonight.
When I got to our media table, I was with not only my compadre at our "competitor" daily and his wife, but two reps from one of the radio stations were there, too, a guy and a girl. And the guy sat next to me and was hot, funny, clever, charming.
I haaaaaaaaaate going to these things because there is never anybody apart from the journos who are less than middle aged, and you NEVER meet anybody. But whoot, Hot Radio Guy. We chatted all through dinner.
Every year the dinner has a theme, this year it was Casino Night, and dressiness was in order, plus, I was a presenter, so I had a cocktail dress on, sweet. Through chatting with him, found out he lives in the same town as my brother. Awesome. Only issue is I'm not sure whether he was there WITH the girl, or just "with" her, for work. But he was really friendly to me. Rock on. I have to work so many weekends...it's nice when it doesn't totally blow.
