I was in the field and working from home this morning, and came into the office late today, around 4PM. It's so nice!!! There's like one other person here. I usually am an early-bird and come in around 8AM, but this is nice. I might start changing up my schedule like this a lot more often. Especially with winter coming, where I would just be sitting home watching TV at night. Does anyone else do this from time to time?

I can stay as long as I want to, because I have a key to the place. There are a bunch of us here right now, actually. It IS nice to do work since it's so quiet. Most of the time, I really have to be in by 9, b/c of the phones, but I can stay til whenever.

I have an assistant who is here doing receptionist/secretarial type work from 9-2 or 9-3 every day. I can also forward my phone calls to my cell. Anyone important has my cell # anyways, as do all the clients, so really, I could mosey in here whenever. I also have a key because the building is locked up around 6PM every night.

I also have keys so can come in whenever, but with my long commute have a hard time getting to the office before 9:15. . . I have worked from home before, and usually prefer not to (even though I have a home office set up from my consultant days, I like keeping my worlds separate.)

oh god, if i could, i'd only come IN to the office once a week. seriously. wouldn't really work where i am now. but it's something i always ask about (telecommuting/flextime options) when i interview or am approached now. the days of loving to go to my office are long gone...

I enjoy working from home every once in awhile to get a break, but I also think I do well with the "structure" of an office to come in to. Plus, I have to be here quite often because of the "PR" thing. It doesn't look good for the Supervisor to never be in the office!!

No, not unless you're the President, and then you're always out representing the place and you can do pretty much whatever you want. I think I'm also a bit of a control freak. . . I was out yesterday (on a personal day) and still called to make sure things were running smoothly.

I prefer to come early and leave early...but that's just me.
Actually, if I had it my way I'd come in late and leave early :D

I always feel like people think I'm a slacker because I come in early and leave early. Nobody sees me come in at 7am, so they don't realize that I've been here longer than them.

I used to take advantage of that and *say* I was coming in at 7. No one gets here until like 8:15. So, I'd come in at like 7:55 and everyone would see me working away and I'd be like, "yeah..been here since 7!" then I'd leave at 4. It was genius.

For now my new job is 7 or so until about 4 PM. However once I'm done with my training in 4-6 months I'll be moved to an 11:30 to 8 PM schedule. I think I'll really like that because half of my day will be a normal workday and the other half will be more sedate because everyone else in my department will go home. Plus I'll only have 2 shift leaders and a reduced production staff to watch over. Also I get light traffic because I'm coming in at lunchtime and leaving at 8. Plus I'll still get home early enough to have some quality time with my g/f:)

Heheh me too!
Actually soon my work is implementing a 9/80 schedule, where you work like 8 9-hour days and 1 8-hour day to get every other Friday off. I like leaving work by 4 or 430 so I am going to have a train myself to get to work earlier. I'd rather come in earlier and continue leaving early rather than come in at my normal time and leave later.
Skyblade, I have people give me dirty looks (ok, so they do it jokingly) when they see me leaving work at 4 or so. They don't realize I come in early because they come into work all late!
