sending letters of recommendation with resume... do or dont?

I'm in the process of sending in resumes for a new job. Should I include letters of recommendation with my resume or not?

I haven't since my first job, which required them.

My resume for subsequent jobs simply says "references available upon request," unless the application info specifically states references are necessary, then they're included.

Yep, only send if it's required or they ask for it. It's the same deal as providing references.

Who do you have letters from? I just came across a job I wanted to apply to which required 3 letters of recommendation, I don't have any! I sent my resume anyway, why the hell not right?

I won't even look at anything that I have not asked for, so recommendations, copies of degress/certifications, etc. probably won't even see the light of day.
