Our office is closed on Thursday and Friday. Today has been dragging like a MF though LOL. Tommorrow I am in the field and working from home, then Wednesday will be here before we know it! I love short work weeks!!

Yeah, I know! I can't believe it's 3:40 on Monday. Two days to go and a lot of stuff to get done before we leave.

I just got an email saying that I must leave the office NLT noon on Wednesday. Yay!
But I'm not sure that I'm ready for it to be Thanksgiving yet. I have too much crap to do.

Traffic was sooo light this morning. I think a lot of people are taking the whole week off. I just have off Thurs. and Fri. My fiance only has off Thurs., which is lame. He gets stupid holidays like Columbus day off and has has to go in the day after Thanksgiving, wtf?

Technically our agency is open on Friday, but our office building is closed. Not much I can do about that. I guess it's optional if I want to meet clients or anything. And our direct care staff are still expected to work unless other arrangements have been made.

I have so much stuff I want to get done before Thursday (we also get Thursday and Friday off). I need to get this all done or it will be bothering me during my vacation.
I hate waiting on other (slow!) people to get things done.

I'm super excited about the short week, too - plus, this is my last three days of full-time work until further notice! Thurs. and Fri. are paid holidays for me, and then I begin my 12 weeks of maternity leave on Mon.! I am wrapping up what I can and handing off the rest to other employees in the next two days. It feels so crazy to know that I'm not coming back next week! I will start back in late Feb. with part-time work.

When's your due date? I was thinking about you today when a coworker said that her SIL is due any day too.
Ugh, that sucks if you go another 2 weeks....b/c you'll get screwed out of time off w/ your baby.

I volunteered to work at my old job Friday night. 4 or 5 hours with some books? Why the hell not....

This week is dragging! I ended up being the sucker who has to work on Friday to watch the phones, but I'm planning to pick one or two projects that have been sitting on the backburner and work on those all day.
I was at the mall tonight to run some quick errands, and it was so strange to see Christmas trees everywhere and kids having their pictures taken with Santa. It seems like Christmas comes earlier and earlier every year.

I have to work monday through wednesday but I don't have to hit the road until mid-day on Thursday because my parents are having thanksgiving a day late. Also I have monday and tuesday off as paid holidays (one of the perks of living in a redneck area -- deer season holiday).

Do a Trader Joe's run. This is what I did. My aunt asked me to bring appetizers for Thanksgiving so I went there and picked up a whole bunch of stuff. I also am going to try to make some yummy crab dip.

There are only three of us in the office. But that really doesn't say much when you only have an office of five. :)

When I was a kid, we'd get a week off school for skiing--one of the perks of living near good slopes.

When I lived in Newport Beach the high school next to my apartment complex got a week off in February for "ski week". I guess back in the day there were so many families that took off around that time of the year to go skiing that now they just make it a week long time off from school.
Here in the Phoenix area, a lot of schools have Fall break in October.

Nope, we had spring break which was usually whenever Easter was (either March or April).
We had our basic two-week winter break (basically from Christmas to New Years) and the summer vacation which was from mid-June to mid-September. We did have a holiday in February, which I think was Presidents Day. And we'd also have the occasional student free day/staff development day where the teachers and staff would be at school but the students were off.

Wow. We had about 10 days at Christmas, a week in Feb, a week in April, and then summer, obviously.

Yeah, I didn't mean Ski Week was spring break (because it wasn't).
I didn't get anything resembling a Fall Break before Thanksgiving before I started college.
And once we moved from that location, I didn't get ski week any more, so it wasn't for my whole childhood.

Nope, school usually started about a couple days after Labor Day. Then about 10 days (two weeks) for winter break. Then a week for spring break. Then three months of summer vacation. And of course all the basic school holidays.
During the year we had about five student free days, so I think that made up for the no ski week.

I'm due the 29th - only 8 more days! Just got back from a dr. visit, apparently i am already 1 cm dilated but that could last for weeks before real labor starts. Still exciting to know that something is happening, though! And I am still in shock knowing that tomorrow is my last day of work. I guess if I get really bored next week and the baby's still not coming I could pop into the office and log some hours - my boss would probably love it. We'll see how motivated I am Monday AM. :)

Do you need a recipe? I make this really good crab dip that's so easy and only has 4 ingredients.

I'm taking tomorrow off because I need it for travel, but it's really just increasing my stress. This short week means that, when I get back to work on Monday, I only have two weeks to finish a certain project.

Ummm, the casual Wednesday email went out at 4:43pm on Tuesday. I usually leave by 4:30pm. I missed the darn email and was all dressed up today!
