apple cider drink ideas...

So, I'm having a little shin-dig this weekend, and since it's Thanksgiving, I want to have some sort of alcoholic apple cider drink - and I'd like it to be hot (I'll have it in a crock pot or something). Any ideas/suggestions?

I've tried webtender.com, but for the most part I'm getting cold drinks. I'm also looking for simple (as in pour ingredients and stir).

Apple pucker in cider is always a great choice. I've never had it warmed up however. I'm sure it would still be very tasty! Here's a couple links I found that may help with some recipes. Some of them contain spiced rum, which sounds pretty appealing. I would think a whiskey drink would be good too but I don't know if whiskey appeals to you. Warm cider + rum = cider drink with booze that is warm and tasty.

Ok this isn't hot or apple cider, but apple juice + vodka + whipped cream + cinnamon = apple pie shooter! You put in a shot of apple juice (or 1/2 for the small mouths) a shot of vodka into someone's mouth, top it with whipped cream and cinnamon and then the person shakes it up in their mouth and swallows. Very yummy, fun, and messy all at once.

One year my fraternity hosted liquid golf, and my room was the gin and cider hole. Of course, no one had any idea how to do a gin and cider shot, so I kept demonstrating over....and over...and...

In case your interested:

Pour gin and cider in shot glass, sprinkle cinnamin powder on top. Cover top of shotglass with hand, slam on table to mix cinnamin powder, and drink!

just as a reminder - if it's light and yellow you have got juice there fellow, and if it is dark and brown you are in cider town - unless of course you are n Canada where is is all reversed.

Ditto that. Also add a bit of honey and you're good to go. This also works well with apple juice if you don't have any cider handy.

Some great ideas here thanks! I was looking for a similar question about hot apple cider. I had some once at this party and it was brilliant but never found out what it was, I would ask the guy who’s party it was but he’s currently in a drug addiction treatment centre (http://celluliticbliss.com/?p=476) :(. I never tried apple with some honey in it, sounds like it could taste awful but I’m going to try it anyway next weekend when I have a big birthday BBQ :)
