Hello all! I'm new here, although I'm not exactly new to my own personal QLC. It's just nice to see a forum with other people who are having similar experiences to mine. :)
Anyway... tip of the iceburg but I'll throw some of it out there anyway: I've been working at my current job for about a year now. I like the job well enough, I work at a radio network in nyc and the security of it certainly beats the temp positions and freelance jobs I held before this. Yet I have 2 issues: I plan to leave nyc in the next year or so, and I don't know where to go from here, career-wise. There aren't that many positions like mine around the country, and I wouldn't want to do this particular job for a long time anyway (I'd like to have more responsibility, etc). I do a little design at this job but not much --I'm not technically a designer and I'm sitting in front of a pc unlike all the official designers --I research audience numbers, I coordinate ads, do powerpoints, spreadsheets, the usual corporate stuff. It sounds like a lot but I actually have lots of big empty spaces in my day. I don't know what kind of job I could possibly get after this, I don't have a personality for sales like the rest of the people in my office (calling strangers still scares the crap out of me), and I'm not that passionate about broadcasting. Any ideas?
For the record-- I'd like to start planning early so I can develop those skills I'd need for a new position. Best to be prepared.
