Nice way to begin Friday....
Went to Wawa and got some soup. On my way home pulling out I pass a cop who turns around and he follows me (while i still dont know, just driving not paying attention) and asks about my window tint and says i was doin 47 in a 30. Which i was.
So i got a repair order for my 2 front windows (tint was illegal) and a $60.00 fine.
Didn't get a speeding ticket so that was nice of him, I guess.
Bullshit!
but all & all i really need to get it legal cause its just an excuse to get pulled over everytime I pass a cop.

Just be thankful you didn't get the speeding ticket and the fix it ticket doesn't go on your record.

I'm seriously afraid of cops everytime I pass one. I got pulled over last year on Christmas Eve and ever since I've been super paranoid. I get this weird feeling in the pit of my stomach until the cop is out of sight. I got freaked out over Thanksgiving cuz this cop was hiding and right after I passed he turned his siren and lights on but he pulled over the guy in front of me. Whew.

I have no idea if my windown tinting is illegal. I've been pulled over numerous times since I got that car, and it's never been mentioned, so I'm guessing it's okay.

yeah I guess I should be thankful. its $20 a window to get the tint off if i dont do it myself, and another $80 to get legal tint on. I do like tint. 35% tint is nothing really.
So yeah, do not have to go to court if I just pay the $60 fine. Nothing goes on my record.
Question is should I pay the $60 fine, or go to court & have them reduce it.

I don't really think $60 is worth going to court, unless it was going on your record.

Yeah, I agree. Probably not worth the pain, especially if you'd have to take time off work to go.

I'm scared shitless of cops. Even when they have a cop siren on a radio station, I freak out and get very paranoid. Anything flashing behind me makes me very nervous.

This, no. Speeding ticket, yes...since the fine is just the icing on the cake...that could cost you thousands of dollars in the long run through insurance surcharges.

Last week I was talking to a cop and he said that even he's scared of getting pulled over.

Haha, me too. A chill shoots through my body and I do a quick scan of all my rear-view mirrors.
I also get paranoid when a cop car is near, but I keep telling myself as long as I'm not doing anything illegal, I'm fine...

Here's one for ya':
This 4th of July as I was finding a spot to watch the local fireworks, a cop stopped me because someone apparently thought I was taking pictures of her with my cell phone a couple minutes earlier. I showed him my phone, explained that it's not a camera phone, and I even showed him my call log. He let me go after realizing that I was only checking my voicemail and then returning a call. What an idiot. . .

I was pulled over a few months back. I drove a co-worker home and we smoked 3 joints. I left to go home and was pulled over about 15 minutes later. I have never in my life been as scared as I was then. I knew I was pulled over for expired plates, $115 ticket, not a big deal. But I had never been as high in my life as I was at that minute and I was terrified I would forget what we were talking about in the middle of a sentence. Amazingly, when he came to my window I managed to be the funniest, most engaging, charming guy as I have ever been in my whole life. I would look up at him, but never for very long as I was afraid he would bust me on my red eyes. We were both laughing and he basically apologized for having to give me the ticket. Never smoked pot since then but thats a story I will never forget. If only I could be that cool and calm all the time.

I'm surprised so many people are terrified of cops. They don't scare me at all. It's getting a ticket and having to pay a fine that pisses me off.

I've been pulled over so many times for so many different things that is just second nature now. I actually have a spreadsheet showing all the reasons and how many times for each and whether or not I got a ticket.(39 stops for 24 different reasons:eek: )..Most of them were from when I was in the 19-22 age bracket as I've only gotten 2 tickets in the last 5 years.
I've learned to just be polite...that got me (mostly) out of a huge ticket 3 years back

So here is a question for all the folks who are, as one person put, "scared shitless of the police". Why? Do you have a guilty conscience? Do you currently have a suspended license, bad record, or other issues? Were you doing something wrong?
I drive home from a friends house late at night several times a month and there are always speeding traps set up. I usually drive 5-15 miles over the speed limit until I come to the places where I consistently have seen cops in the past. But beyond that if I am driving the speed limit or even 5-10 miles an hour over I have never run into an issue with being followed or pulled over. Just last night in fact I was driving home doing about 70MPh and I had two Cops come up on me. I simply changed lanes and they went right by.
I am not quite sure why everyone thinks they are always the target for the police. You are probably more apt to be pulled over by worrying because I am sure your driving prowess is compromised when you are constantly staring into your rear-view mirror.

I am scared shitless of the police because one speeding ticket will cost me (and everyone, frankly) thousands of dollars in the long run because of insurance surcharges. If you are on the verge of losing thousands of dollars just like that, I think most people would be scared shitless too if they think about it.
And I had a long-time nervousness of police overall since an incident when I was four years old. Not to mention the stuff I'm reading about the actions of police and other law authority during the Civil Rights era.

A speeding ticket itself is not going to skyrocket your insurance.
If you get 3 in a year here in MA, you will have your license suspended for a month and have to go to traffic school for a Saturday and pass their written test.
At that point yes your insurance will go up because of points.
Ive had MAJOR speeding tickets (one was almost $300!) and Ive been pulled over etc, and Ive even been in accidents (2 were NOT my fault, one I was found at fault but it wasnt mine bygones)
My insurance went up $100 per year for 1.5 years.......this year it came down so drastically in price ($50 less per month) due to the time duration and those 'offenses' being pulled off my record.
I dont like when cops are behind me or if they put on their flashers soon after I pass them, but whatever if I get pulled over, I take off my sunglasses, turn off the radio all before they come to my window.
They ask for my license and registration I get it to them quickly because both are easily accessable (cops HATE it when you take forever to look for that stuff.....I dated a cops son and 3 of his sons were all cops and they told me how to get out of tickets)
Look the cop in the eye, tell him you're sorry if you know you did whatever he is pulling you over for.
Ill tell you Ive been pulled over 3 times in the past 2 years, always just been giving a warning. =)

Probably, not being as perfect as you.
