Santa was great. We are very very please with how generous he was. And I'll leave it at that.

Merry Christmas everyone!

I'm going to say ditto to this. HOLY CRAP did I get some unexpected presents.

And tonight ended nicely with my aunt giving me chocolate-covered strawberries :)

From my BF I got a 20" wide format flat screen TV for my room, a great pair of shoes he saw me try on and love but not get a few weeks back, and sateen 800 thread count sheets for my bed.

From my family (which is just my parents) I got a gucci purse that I had eyed a bit back, clothes that I picked out in NYC, they adopted a tree frog in my name, and the topper was a pair of diamond earrings that were my moms but she had them re-set!

Totally a very unexpected Christmas this year, but it was really fun.

Im actually excited about what I got my BF......skydiving. We have to schedule when we are going to go (probably first thing in the spring!)

My parents are really, really strapped this year, due to my dad getting stiffed on a several month-long major construction job because the homeowners blew through their insurance settlement rather than using it to pay for the work they contracted, so my parents are basically without income right now, and taking it to court will be costly. Merry Christmas, yo.

That being the case, it was a super low-key wordsmith family Christmas, really downplaying the gift-giving end of things and focusing on just being together and enjoying that.

My parents bought me a new computer for school, which I got a couple months ago when my other one died. They also got me a few small things to open on Christmas, the funniest one being a new menorah, lol. (for anyone who doesn't know, my dad's family's jewish and my mom's catholic).

Be out three months' income at Christmastime, due to a customer not paying their bill, and it doesn't require much by way of convincing. The money's just simply not there, so you do what you can, which is enjoy what's free.

So are you going to tell us what all these awesome gifts were?

ETA: Never mind, you don't have to share if you don't want to ;)

That's pretty funny.

My husband's best friend got my husband a dreidel made out of candy (spelling?) one year for Christmas. All three of us are Catholic. I think that the friend was on the way to our New Year's party and hadn't gotten my husband anything yet, so he just stopped at the mall and picked up the first things he saw on clearance, and one of those things just happened to be a chocolate dreidel.

My parents and I did a money exchange. My dad had told my sister earlier that what he really wanted for Christmas was money, so instead of buying anything for my dad I put a $50 in a nice card for him as his gift. Then at our gift exchange my parents gave me a card from them that had $50 in it.

my bf got me a new computer, a vera bradley bag with matching wallet, a few odds and ends that we picked upwhile shopping for other people, and i got him a new razor with all the bits to it, some cologne and a couple little rc cars that he really wanted. i have to save most of my $ for the gov't this year, so instead of getting him a seiko kinetic now it's going to have to happen sometime in 2007, but he understands. he's the best bf anyone could ever ask for.

My parents got me a fancy electric razor, which I need to try tonight, as I'm overdue for a shave.

Got three pair of boxers from my sister, as well as a basket filled with chocolate candy. Got a shirt from my brother, $5 in scratchoffs from my niece, and a box of Queen Anne cherries from my boss.

The hotel gave us each a $15 Wal-Mart gift card, and my Secret Santa at work gave me another for $10. Spent the total of $25 today: A romance novel and a copy of Sim City 4.

A better holiday than I anticipated, especially with Winter's gift coming in today. :)

My brother bought me Taladegga Nights, and my sister bought me Little Miss Sunshine :D

Aside from that, I got some things I had asked for, as is typical in my family. The giftgiving is mostly just for the fun of opening presents and getting a few surprises mixed in, it's just for fun, we dont stress about the presents much.

Board games afterward, however, are a much more serious endeavor (and I'd like to add that I won nearly every game this year :p )

Santa and fam was good to me. I got crochet hooks, a cooking pan, automatic card shuffler from my bf's mom. I also got clothes and some knitting books. My bf got me a pizza crisper which I really wanted and got. We're doing a little more Christmas and gave one present with my fam present. My favorite gift was from my dad which was a handpainted bowl. He painted the bowl during Thanksgiving in Door County. He painted a monkey bank and the bowl but didn't tell me that I was getting the bowl which I love.

Well, I am my own santa every year for the things I really want since I never want people to buy me anything expensive. I'd figure if it's expensive but it's something I want, I'd better be able to afford it myself. I really wanted to a GPS navigation system since I'm generally bad with directions, so I finally bought one this year (it doesn't hurt that I racked up loads of bonus rewards miles for it). :D It should be here in a few days. My mom wanted me to get it for me since she was asking my sis what model I wanted to get. She figured it'll benefit the family since I am the primary driver, but she has no idea how expensive it is (since we never had one), so she gave me $60 to contribute to it. That is so sweet.

I got the best gifts this year: I got myself a cute singing santa toy trio from Hallmark (it was a after-Christmas sale and it was under $10 and it's sitting nicely on top of the cabinet). I click on a button and I hear the snowman and penguins sing. :p I've always wanted one of those. I got a cute little keychain from my cousin, chocolate and lots of sweets from my coworkers, a useful gift from Yankee Swap at work, and most of all, a bunch of Christmas cards from my friends which I absolutely adore. Christmas cards/greetings are my favorite gifts and spending time with my family is my favorite part of Christmas.

My dad got me a new Lexus with a bow around it in the driveway. Such a suprise. I wish he would've gotten it in a blue though! My sister and bro-in-law stuffed my stocking with a hella nice Rolex. Must've been at least $3k! My family really loves me, see all the money they spend!

If I got something worth 3K, I would sell it and use the money towards my student loan. Also, my rents would never spend that kind of money on me during Christmas unless I'm getting married which is down the road, a ways down the road.

The people who are getting gifts worth 3K dont have student loans that need to be paid off.
