My realtor called and said I'll be getting an offer on my place tonight!
This will be a *huge* weight off my shoulders.
Let the negotiations begin. . .

Yay! How long did you have it for? When are you moving, btw?

I bought it last Oct. . . but have done a TON of work. I'm not going to make any money on it (damn shitty market). . . but I get a relo bonus from my company if I sell it on my own so that's a plus.
I move next week (I move, but my stuff doesn't come until February). I have so much stuff that I could be doing. . . but am in denial and playing on a message board instead. :)

Just curious...why did you buy? Did you think you'd be in your current location for a long time? I know I hate moving and packing and all of that, so I can't imagine trying to sell on top of that.

My company has a really good relo policy. I have movers that come and pack everything up. I don't really have to do much in that respect (other than pack enough stuff to get by in temp living until I close on my new place). There are plenty of annoying things like getting drivers licenses, registrations, doctors, dentists, hairdressers, churches, etc. . . but now my company is offering lifestyle assistance so they'll look up this stuff for me according to my specifications.
My relo policy protects me. . . in that if I can't sell w/in a certain period of time, they will buy my house from me. This, on top of the fact that I can afford to buy made it a no-brainer. Plus, I enjoy doing home improvement projects, painting, etc. I made money on my last house by fixing it up. It won't happen this time because of the current market, but that's the breaks.
I should be in Texas longer (hopefully at least a few years). I LOVE my place there so I'm hoping to get a little more settled. . . but then again, who knows?

What?! NOT crazy! :D
You get that much help moving and everything. I moved across town, from a rental to a rental and still am not really settled yet.

It really is a rarity these days for companies to help out with relocation. Maybe its a little different since you are already employed.

Well, slightly crazy. Four moves to different parts of the country in four years. Yeah, my company has asked me to do it. . . Part of me is tired, but part of me likes it.

Was this a promotion (without your input) or did you have to apply for this new job? Are you being "forced" to transfer?

I was lucky that my current job paid for my relocation. But nothing like what Tiny. But I'll take what I can! :)

I would love it if my new company paid for my gas. Almost 60 miles a day on my car is tough.

I remember when I worked for Apple and we would fly people out just for interviews. I thought that was weird but now that I'm working for another large company, it doesn't seem that odd because we fly people all around the place for just about anything. I've already gone on 3 business trips in the past year and I'm just a marketing assistant.

They've asked me to, and I'm happy to do it. For this most recent opportunity, I actually applied before I was asked.
I'm a career person now and have no reason not to be. Nothing tying me down. I trust the people at Corporate guiding my career. . . and pretty much am game for whatever they have planned for me.
Sounds weird. . . I know. If I ever meet someone or having family issues back home, my situation would change. . . but right now, this works.

Wow, that's so "weird" that they have plans for you. Weird in a good way, I mean. Most places really don't care about their employees' career growth. Mine might...if all goes well with my review.
