Yea I could use a little positiveness - I love hearing when things are going well for other people.

Let's see... I ended up exchanging my NYE dress twice and luckily the smallest size fits! And I didn't need a stomach-holding-in-thingy-yay!

I'm going home to my parents' tonight for a yummy home cooked meal :p mmmmmm

Michelle, don't eat too much home cooked food, or you'll need a bigger size! j/k :p

I'm wearing a super-cute outfit today. I missed getting dressed up.

- I got to spend two weeks with D (we were both on vacation but didn't go anywhere) and it was SO NICE. Neither of us were stressed from work and we were able to enjoy ourselves and do small things like go to the coffee shop or out to lunch. It was really relaxing...and nice.

- I got approached by Elle magazine to submit photos for a contest called "self styled"

- I have finally started reading again! I forced myself to pay my $30 in library fines and got some new books.

Kitty, how'd you get approached by them? Did D take time off or does he work for your company too?

*I wrote a super kickass cover letter for a writing job. It may not pan out, but, hey, this is the positive thoughts thread, right?

*I bought U2 By U2, a book I'd been denying myself because it was too expensive, because it was on sale this weekend.

*I wrote a feature that will actually work doing double duty in both the papers I put out, which decreases my work load considerably this week. And, it's good.

*I'm getting married in 10 months.
*For the most part, I really enjoy my job.
*I am getting my finances in order.
*I've been able not to let little things get me down.

Through my blog.

He just took two weeks off. He doesn't work where I do.

- My apartment is cleaned a week ahead of time in anticipation of my dad's visit next week (it's just him visiting b/c he's in town for a conference, but it's still going to be nice b/c it's his birthday and I'll get to treat him to a nice place here in Annapolis).

- I'm checking out a yoga place this week and registering for said belly dancing class, as well.

- I fixed a friend's necklace and have plans to create a new bracelet for myself.

- Life is good right now. :)

-- uhhh, since i didn't buy my counter from Home Depot yet, i may get to use that gift card to fix the hole in my ceiling from a stinkin' leaky pipe??

-- I am flat out determined to religiously get to the gym at least 3 days a week and push myself while there, instead of lollygagging through.

-- Am going to keep paying off as much of my debt as humanly possible this year.

-- my 10 year HS reunion is this year and i can't wait! LOL.

- The workout I have been doing has been working well for me. And I've found a new workout that is similiar that I can do when I want to change things up.

- I'm signing up for swim lessons soon.

- I came up with some NY resolutions yesterday and I like them and I know that if I stick with them things will only get better.

- I think there's more to be positive about but I can't recall them all right now so I gotta admit that's a good thing.

- After more than 6 months of job searching I finally found something great! I start in February and I can't wait! It's also in my neighborhood so the commute will be literally 2 minutes. Goodbye publishing!

- My friend from Baltimore came to Boston for NYE weekend and we had a fantastic time.

- My family is doing well.

*I went to the gym today for the first time in forever. And I wasn't even as out of shape as I thought I'd be.

*I started cooking again, which I haven't done since October. And the food I'm making is relatively healthy.

*I did really well in my classes this semester.

Cool thread, nice to hear all the good news, I was happy just to make it to 2007... It reminds me of Bahamavention, has anyone else seen it yet? I just got back to the office today from a break for New Years and I already feel like I could use one.

-- I want to have more positive thoughts. How's that for a positive thought? :)

-- I met a single woman NYE in my Meetup group, and she emailed me back. That's a start.

-- My therapist said I've made a lot of progress since May.

-- I'm increasingly confident I'll be able to move out soon. That would be the best news of all. :D

My picture is in the paper as of tomorrow. That's kinda cool. PM me if you want to read the profile the paper did. It's a nice pick me up for me.

Other positives...
It's my birthday in 14 days. :D

I might be getting a new job, and even if I don't I only have to work in the hell hole until May.

I found a cool park near where I live that offers tennis lessons for a $20 registration fee (that's for the whole year!). Cool beans.

S's sister got engaged. That's sort of neat.

Ahhh that's it for now I guess.

I bought 2 pairs of earrings today at Lord & Taylor...they were each marked $50 originally and marked down to $25, so I was prepared to buy them at that price. They ended up being marked down to $7 and $9 when I got to the register. It was definitely a positive point in my day. :)

I love it when stuff like that happens!

I bought 3 prs of shoes at DSW last weekend, and I thought they would be just 50% off. Turns out they were their original % off (from the colored sticker) THEN they took 50% off, then I had a coupon for an additional 10% off, so I got the 3 prs for $88, and saved $148!!!!!!!

The sun is shining after some moderate to heavy rainfall last night in my town. Sunlight always makes me happy, especially when it sparkles on the lake...beautiful scenery :)

The weather is absolutely gorgeous here today.

It's about 70 and the sun is blazing. I just walked the entire length of the boardwalk, back and forth, which I think is at least a couple of miles.

I'm feeling very motivated:D .

I killed my battery listening to the radio with my headlights on. But as soon as I get it jumped, I'm going home, and that's positive.

I GOT AN INTERVIEW!!!!!!!! (when Im just casually looking!)

Through my buddy from high school, he told me that the college he works for is looking for a new HR Assistant Director, so he passed on my resume and he spoke to the HR Director…..put in a good word and she told him to tell me to contact her.

I Emailed her on Friday, she responded this morning asking me if Id like to come in Thursday or Friday!!!!!

Ive got this one in the bag and have NO HR experience. It’s a HUGE pay increase, hours are 830 - 430, and in the summer 8- 5:15 with EVERY Friday off.
Free lunch every day!!!
Tuition reimbursement 100% due to the job being at the college.

Wow the past few days have been fantastic!

I had a good weekend. Talked to a lot of new people and made new friends. I took chances and went with what seemed right. It didn't always work, but it's progress. It's a good thing. :)
