Hey, does anyone else need a spring break? I am in desperate need of some good vacation ideas. Any tips on good travel sites or a low key/not too expensive vacation? The weather in St. Louis is really getting me down. I need a vactation asap. Any tips would be appreciated.

I just need it to be spring again so I can bust out the skirts and flip flops!
For travel sites, once I have an idea of where I'd like to go, I like to visit tripadvisor.com to read people's reviews. Some people post guides or lists of places to see, and sometimes you'll find people who list ways they did their trip cheaply.

I've been wanting to do a three-day weekend on the road. When I get the money, I plan to go back out to the High Plains again. Nobody else likes it, so more room for me. :huge:

I have the perfect site for you - its hilarous: http://www.bahamavention.com/bahamavention/
Its a travel site for the bahamas - but its done in the same theme as the bahamavention commercials, its funny even if you're not looking for a vacation, and its also got the videos posted on it too.

I'm going to a resort in Puerto Plata, DR in a few weeks with some friends. I got the trip off of one of those discount travel sites. I'm pretty excited!

Which one? I went to resort in Puerto Plata, DR last year and didn't have a very good time at all. My fiance also got Montezuma's Revenge.
I hear cruises are a good time. I've never been, but I think this is what we are going to end up doing for our honeymoon.
In regards to "Spring break" what kind of "experience" are you looking for?

I'm going to Bahia Principe San Juan. I live near Toronto, Ontario, so I just want to get away from the cold.

OK, that's a different one. Maybe you will have a better experience. I also noticed that there were a TON of Canadians in the DR. I guess all of you "up North" look for warm places this time of year LOL.

It's not the bahamas, but the best thing I did for myself last winter was pack up and take a weekend trip to Austin, Texas. Cheap flights via Southwest, and it was a totally doable mini retreat.

i don't know if skiing is your thing, but a lot of the popular ski areas in colorado always run good specials during spring break. i like it because you can go and ski hard during the day and have really low key (but still fun) nights.
then again, i'm from texas, so going to a cold area isn't bad for me :)

I guess I am the weirdo around here. I'm wanting to go to the bone-cold High Plains. Where the wind blows around 15 miles per hour nearly constantly. And I'm hoping to see it snow. :p
I hate hot weather. And I'm not much fond of warm weather.

Ironically, one Canadian MP was talking seriously a couple of years ago about having Canada admit some small Caribbean island territory as the 11th Canadian province. I forget which one, but the British currently hold it. So many Canadians go there that the MP figured the Canadians might as well own the damn place.

I remember that. It was the Turks and Caicos, which are actually a grouping of 40 islands located 250 kilometres east of Cuba. Sadly, that motion was defeated.
