Anyone take this route, I was looking online yesterday and saw that some universities offer this dual master program which is really appealing to me. I am looking into MSW programs but have an interest in business possibly down the road when I am older?

hello there.

Haven't heard much about that but I know an MSW who got his MBA as well. He says it has opened some doors for him. He did his MSW first. I think it would make you very marketable, especially if you want to go into the administrative side of social work.

The MSW/MBA combination is also great if you decide to go into private practice as a therapist. A lot of social workers (not all!) avoid the business side of things and end up hiring someone to do their billing and/or bookkeeping. If therapy isn't your thing, you'd move into administrative or supervisory roles quickly, as emmyb said. Last, you'd always have an out if you decided one field or the other wasn't for you.

Keep in mind that you can also concentrate in "administration" for your MSW. This may save you extra time and $$$. I also know that you need to get accepted into BOTH schools/majors which can sometimes be difficult.
