While we're talking sports, what do you guys think of the Tommy Morrison stuff?

From what I hear, he wasnt very impressive in his win. I was listening to him on the Dan Patrick show and he still seems like kind of a headcase to me.

He said that the first test gave a false positive and that he's taken a bunch of tests recently and they've all been negative. Who the hell doesn't get a second or third opinion on an AIDS test? :eek:

yeah, but don't you remember that HBO special on him? it was on Real Sports before it was Real Sports... Anyway, he and his GF/wife/whatever looked HORRIBLE. Just terrible. They were refusing all treatment and they said there that they had gone to doctors and they just wouldn't take their meds. So, whatever they had (HIV or otherwise) was (assumed) to be continuiously mutating and they'd just keep passing the disease back and forth to each other.

However, if he had been taking meds, I think I would believe this more b/c I think I read somewhere that, bc of his regimen and meds, Magic Johnson no longer tests positive for HIV. (However, my friend insists that this is b/c he never had it, either, and it was some big conspiracy).

He has this whole conspiracy theory that the gov't needed a prominent figure to be the face of the disease and get people to make efforts to stop spreading it. And, to show people that heterosexuals can get HIV, too. So, since Magic's career was pretty much over, anyway, they somehow got him to agree and be that guy... It's suspicious that his wife never got it.... etc. I don't remember all of his theory, but he had like a million examples.

I thought it was always implied he'd experimented with gay homosexual sex, and his career wasn't over then he was like 32 when he got it, even came back to play later.

Ya the fact that his career was FAR from over shoots a big hole in that theory but its an interesting one nonetheless.

Yeah, I don't know... I've been meaning to check his stats in that last season and see if there was a prolonged injury or anything like that b/c I don't remember. He tried to make a comeback (or two) after all this went down, but they weren't really long or successful.

Whatever. He was telling me this at 5 am and I'll pretty much talk about anything at that point to stay awake at the gym.

I was thinking that too. But I am guessing he meant a happy homosexual.
