Mexico (Cancun) in mid-March. I have never been there before so hopefully the pictures of the resort on the net were not exaggerated.............hopefully I have left myself with enough time to shed some extra/unwanted weight and get myself into a pair of speedos (preferably red).

Hey there spandex king - I hear Cancun is partycentralfungalore. You should have a blast according to my throngs of pals who have been. Let loose and give'er. And don't waste time fretting about any extra weight in the bathers because you will realize as soon as you hit the beach that it really doesn't matter anymore. I was just in Cuba and man,...... I have never seen bikinis and speedos on bodies like that in my life. Cosmo would have you believe it's ILLEGAL!
I think that it would be really funny, (if I were a guy) for me and a bunch of guy friends to actually hit the Mexico beach in speedos. If you decide to do this, please record it as a documentary and post it on youtube.

based on my shopping trip tot h mall it would seems that this spring that speedos with horizontal stripes are in big time in these parts - who the hell looks good in horizontal stripes. I already have a few extra lbs - I don't need to look bigger.

it appears that i'll just be picking up a couple of new pairs of board shorts.

spokes, the time of year you are going will mean dealing with spring break college kids...don't know if that's a plus or not to you. ;-)

i've been a couple times and have a family member who spends a good chunk of time there every year, so if you want ask any suggestions, feel free.

yeah board shorts = tres sexy espesially if you have a nice tush.

Personally I have no desire to go to Mexico anymore.
I am thinking Cuba or Madeira Islands in Portugal this April.

the other upside to wearing board short is that between them and pulling up the socks only around three inches or so of skin on my legs will be exposed thus reducing my chances of getting sunburnt legs.

i am assuming that in mexico it is not considered a fashion faux-pas to wear socks with sandals.

Are you kidding? Slather on the sunsreen, but no socks. (Assuming socks are like tshirts, they don't provide that much protection anyway.)

Why dont you just wear leggings then. That is really trendy right now. Or those Scuba diving tights. Wear the board shorts above the tights though.

just to close the loop i went with a couple of pairs of traditonal board shorts (orange with blue trim, white white some blue and red floral type print and a brown paind with tan trim).

i threm on my cycling tights just to give me an iadea of how they would look with leggings and i am going to conform and just go with the board shorts and sandals......one week to go i can hardly wait.
