I withdrew from my semester today.. I no longer have classes... I did so that I could finally get over this shit with ED crap, and bingeing etc, and just for once get a grip on life. I plan on doing some Distance Ed courses, but other than that, its just me my therapist, a dietician and group meeting for the next few months... any feedback?

Honestly, I don't ever advocate pulling out of classes unless you were definitely flunking everything. When I was in school, the classes actually diverted my attention from my problems and gave me something else to focus on. When the semesters ended and I had a lil break, I found it harder to deal with depression and other issues because I was left was more time on my hands to dwell.
Don't know what else to say except it's good that you are still seeing a therapist and dietician.
Have to add though, why do distance learning instead of being in class. Seems like what you need is not more isolation from people.

Yeah I'd say it's a good thing ONLY IF you are filling in your extra time with more therapy appts, etc. Or even checking in somewhere and focusing 100% on getting healthy.

I hope you work though your issues and come of out this experience with a much healthier outlook on life.

I think sometimes pulling out is the ONLY option. I was majorly depressed one quarter in college and was forced to withdraw. It was my only option. I didn't know if I could go back the next quarter, but I did and just took GE's. I got on medication and I slowly got better. Sometimes you just need time to sort things out and recover. The OP is in a position now where this is an option. She REALLY needs to get her ED under control before going into the real world. Obviously, you can't just pull out of your job, etc. Now is the time to pull out and get things straightened out. I wish the OP the best of luck.

I think it is a good thing to pull out of your classes and focus on your sanity. Good luck!

for what it's worth my younger sister has struggled with eating disorders (amongst other things) and i think taking a quick break from school helped her a bit. best of luck!

I think dropping your classes is a good thing to do if you are screwing up your gpa. I was in denial for a few semester and refused to take some time off from school, but it was such a mistake. I basically stopped going to classes and didn't care that I was flunking out. I'm paying for that now and wish I had taken time off instead of thinking I could bounce back and fix things.

My sister has also struggled with ED, but is now much better than a few years ago. I think it is a good idea to focus right now on your health and getting to the point where you can add other things back into your life. Good luck!
