I got a nibble on a roommate thing I had online. I was called by a gentleman who is renting out space in his house in south St. Louis just a couple blocks north of where I wanted to live. Rent is amazing.
The guy seemed to understand that I was not ready to move right away, and was willing to consider me in the future; the house has turnover during the year due to people's lives changing. He sent an email with a link with pics, and it looks alright.
It's just, I REALLY WANT TO MOVE!!! I just want to pull up stakes and run away! But I know I can't afford it; I know we've had this discussion before.
Thoughts?

Keep in contact with this guy and save like a fiend to get out. Maybe get another PT job, if the regular one isn't keeping you busy.

The job I have now will never be enough. Not at 4% raise a year. :torn:
I was thinking about selling a bunch of my stuff on eBay to make money to move. Of course, that's assuming anybody wants to buy half of my crap; I've never had any luck selling any of my stuff there. :(

Paul, I know you want out, but not having a solid plan or solid income is recipe for disaster.

Agreed. If you have to go to drastic measuers to make an initial payment, how are you gonna make all the monthly payments after that?

First order of business is getting a job, then go about moving out of your parents place.

My fiance is driving me nuts right now that we "should be buying a house", yet, he often bitches about not having enough money for RENT. It's kinda the same thing IMO. You need to be prepared financially for any living situation you go into and the high and unexpected costs that go along with that. You can't always just do something because "you may want to".
