I wasn't sure where to post this as it could easily have been a "Habitat" post..

As I mentioned earlier, I'm crashing with a very, very good friend.

It's been about 6 weeks now.

I can't wait to move out and am already looking at other flats. There are a couple of things; however, that I don't know what to make of.

Her flat is overrun by cockroaches. Eek! :( I had such a problem before and dealt with it. Or, I forced my rental agency to do it.

She's hardly ever here but she does know about the tiny problem. And these aren't just small ones..some can be mistaken for cats. No, I'm being silly. :) But, they are quite big.

Should I just stick it out and not say anything?

Also, I was thinking of giving her some gifts when I leave. She doesn't have proper curtains or blinds. Would that be appropriate? And if I were to pay a fumegation company(one of my siblings works for a major fumegation company) to come spray her flat? Is that fine? The place really needs it.

I'm not reliant on her in any other way. I really appreciate what she's doing for me but feel out of sorts cause I hate bugs of any kind. True, I shouldn't and won't be here much longer but eek!

Need to go exterminate another big one! See ya!

I think as a concerned friend I'd mention the bug problem because you never know what those things could carry. Maybe her landlord can handle it.

I think you should probably discuss it with her before doing anything. I mean, it is her flat, so I think the approval needs to go through her. If she is up for the idea, then great.

Yes. I do need to discuss it with her. But how do I bring up the subject?

I'd hate her to think I'm being prissy. She's still complaining about her ex boyfriend who kept cleaning their previous flat.

Any ideas are appreciated, like, totally!

Are you the one who primarily does the extermination of them? Does she ever kill them?
Perhaps you can just ask her if she would consider fumigating her place... like, not telling her to or even offering your services, but just to see how she feels about the possible idea?

Well, she's hardly ever here. I see her maybe once a week. I just don't want to come across as nagging or preaching.

But I'll def chat to her.

Sounds good. Good luck.
