Through the web, I found a friend that I haven't spoken to in about 3 years. We basically lost touch because of old email addresses and moving to different states. So, does anyone think it's weird to email this person through his new work web site? I only found the address because I had googled this person's name and one of the search results that came up was his current place of employment. If he asks how I found the email, does it sound odd to say that I "googled" him.

Depends how close you were. If you two were pretty decent friends that just got busy, then I don't think it would be weird at all. I think the best part about being on Myspace these days (or insert another social networking site here) is all the old friends from college finding me and adding me to their list.
Don't even say how you found your friend's address. If he or she asks, just say you were Googling people in your address book to bring it up to date.
I know when I started work I had to list several people for the "in case of emergency thing". Since I tend to keep my addresses on my personal computer, I ended up Googling my own grandparents at work to finish filling out the forms. I thought it was both funny and sad.
