I have Yahoo photos now, but I just read that they are closing the site, and I will need to move my pictures by the end of the summer. I want to eventually keep some pictures on my website (once I can get that STARTED!). . . but I have a CRAPLOAD of pictures on there and need to decide what to do in the interim. . .

My favorite thing about yahoo was that I could order my prints from Target in an hour. :(

What are your favorite sites? Snapfish? Flickr? Photobucket?

I need to play around with other sites, but want to get some opinions from you all.

I use snapfish. I've been pretty happy with it, but I don't have a crapton of pictures, and the only thing I don't like about it is that shipping is a pain in the ass. If you want prints, they charge an assload to ship them to you.

I used to use Snapfish, but it annoyed me too much. I switched to Photobucket a couple of years ago and I love it so very much. It's easy, fast, and holds lots of pictures. I haven't tried Flickr, because I'm happy with Photobucket, but most of my friends use Flickr and have nothing but good things to say about it.

I do have to say, I have no idea how Photobucket is with ordering pictures or anything like that. I use it exclusively to share pictures online.

Yahoo owns Flickr so it's natural to want to have your pictures there. I think they'll even transfer them without trouble when Yahoo! Photos closes.

Oh, I didn't know Yahoo owned Flickr. For Flickr (and I think a few other sites), they will move our pictures for us. That's a big plus because I have so many pictures. I have no desire to download them all again!

I will play around with the sites. I appreciate the feedback!

I just read about yahoo photos today. I think I'm just going to have them transfer it over to flickr since I sort of have an account there anyway, and then get them to put all my pics on CD so I have it as a backup.

I just hope that I can still keep the albums because I think all Flickr has right now are sets (which I can only have 3).

I have used snapfish & shutterfly and liked them both. Shutterfly has slightly better quality pictures though (they just look nicer- more true to color). They send a lot of emails w/ coupons so I usually wait until I have one to order anything. Recently, I've been using Kodak (because it ties to my camera) and that's been the easiest/least time consuming for me.

Fotolia, Bigstockphoto, 123rf; etc. These are stock photography sites, but they're almost the same as Flickr and others. You just make some money off of your photos. Just thought I would mention a few in case you're interested. :)

I think I'll probably go with Flickr. . . as you can order those at Target, too. . . and I love that option.

I'm gonna have the same dilemma with categories as you are, Mish. I probably have 30-40 folders at this point.

Ha! I don't know if anyone would pay money for my pictures. My fall foiliage and New England pics are cool. . . but most of the rest are all ridiculous pictures taken for my entertainment. I'll check out those sites for fun though!

If you just want to share pictures online, a really really great thing I have discovered is Picasa - it's a Google product. You can download it for free, manage your pictures on your hard drive (it has a lot of really easy to use editing features for cropping, correcting redeye, etc.), plus you get a ton of online storage space - you can make web albums and post videos, too. I just like it because it's powerful yet easy to use. And when I want to share a web album with someone I can just give them a link to a website - they don't have to create an account/log in etc. in order to see my pictures like a lot of the sites require.

I have a Photobucket account, but I only really use it to store amusing images that I post in forums.
