For months and months I had been doing nothing except worrying; worrying about my career, my future, my personal life. I've found recently that I just don't care what happens now. I've stopped sending out resumes, stopped dating, stopped everything. I just go to my soul sucking job and sleep. I haven't bothered going out on the weekend for almost two months. I know that this isn't a healthy way to live, but I just don't care enough to do anything about it anymore. Am I the only one that feels this way?

Hi,
You're not the only one who feels this way. I know exactly how you feel. I feel that all I like to do is eat and sleep. What can we do to cheer ourselves up? There must be a way out of this rut. If I can help in anyway, just let me know.

I've briefly been in a rut like that. It just feels like all of your worries are piling up on you and you're overwhelmed with the amount of things that you have to think about and deal with. One of my friends gave me the advice of doing something that I enjoy or taking $5-10 and treating myself to something that I want - whether it be renting a movie that I've wanted to see or going out for a cheap meal. Or, if you don't have the money to spare, find something to do that doesn't cost money - going to the park and playing frisbee, reading a book in nice weather, drawing, inviting friends over just to hang out, etc. Try to pamper yourself a little bit to distract yourself from the outside worries and take some time for YOU. It's helped my mood to do something for myself, since no one else will! Hope that helps.
