Soon I will have my B.A in sociology. I am not yet sure I want to go into a Masters program, so I am interested in jumping into the job market.

I do not know much about working in Pharm sales except that you need have a strong work ethic, and it can be competitive.

I am wondering if I am a good fit.
I am very social, extroverted I consider myself to be very friendly, and polite.
I have no science knowledge however, I was briefly in the BSW program, so I have some knowledge of emotional disorders and medications.
I also believe in a good work-life balance and would hope I could relax for a few hours in the evenings and on the weekends without preparing for work the next day.

I am not a highly competitive person, but have worked in retail sales and done well. Any information anyone has on working in the field would be terrific!

I read in a major national newspaper last year or so about how pharma companies typically hire out of collegiate dance/cheer teams. No joke. ( New York Times I believe had the article) They want confident eye candy more than anything else.

My sister is a drug rep. She seems to like it, she's away training A LOT, for months at a time, which I couldn't do. And she's very busy, lots of driving, lots and lots of shmoozing. Sorry that's all probably pretty obvious, but that's all I really know about it.

I'm pretty sure you have to be a hot female. So if you are, you might have a good chance!

My fiance is a drug rep and he says that most of the reps in his territory are male. I think everyone hears that only hot cheerleader types are hired, but I know my fiance went through a really rigorous interview process and he really had to know his stuff. He was at training for 4 weeks, and then another week on his 3 month anniversary. He has another week on his year anniversary and that's it. He does do a lot of driving, but most days he's done by 3, often earlier.
