A friend of mine who works in HR got her business degree in HR. Another didn't concentrate in HR specifically, but earned a business degree.

I'd think that most liberal arts could break into it, though.

Well I have a diploma in media arts with emphasis in photography, and certificates in web site design and computer graphics. I bet that wont be good enough, huh?

I'd like to apply for the job, considering it's for where I already work, but I'm sure they'll fill it without advertising it, just like they did for development director (which I'd have applied for, had I known they were doing it). I've been there 3 years, which I'm thinking doesn't mean shit there. I'm bored. I want to be doing something productive. To me, cleaning all day is mind-numbing and thoroughly BORING. Considering I 'lacked skill' (the interviewer's words) to be an office assistant (then the gal they hired up and left after barely a year-I'd have stayed forever), I'm sure I'm bound to stay where I'm at forever.
