I gave my notice to my company last Friday, and now they want to negotiate. They are offering me corporate housing, company car, and a week of paid vacation every 2-3 months.....I am homesick but how can I pass this up. If I'm not paying rent I could pay off ALL of my credit cards. The only issue is that I would live breathe and be the company for a year +. I would work at least 9-5 and every other weekend...They apologized for their past insane and crazy behavior and I have no definite plans for going home except working at my old restaurant....

I am still considering as I have nothing invested yet, and this will not be a cakewalk, but it's tempting

Um, aren't these the people who bounced your paychecks a million times? I'd tell them, thanks, but no thanks, and keep on truckin'.

Sounds pretty sweet, but pisces is right. If they couldn’t deliver something as basic as a paycheck before, I’d be doubtful they could give you this. If you are in the negotiating room, I’d ask for more than an apology for that stuff but an explanation on why it like that wouldn’t happen again.

yeah..plus the housing would have been me and my supervisor and the VP's assistant and nanny.....it would have been so nice, but things like this come with consequesnces and I am no one's bitch....he called me again at 10:30 am yesterday for driving directions..i think that he will never get it..friday is the last day..woo hoo

this sounds like something from a David Letterman top 10 but

the number 1 reason you should quit your job....

UH
my boss's wife keeps on trying to get me to stay and I am not hearing it anymore...i told her today about the weekend n night phone calls from her husband for directions..i told her that I would train the person so it transitions better, i told her that i found 2 candidates..and now she wants to discuss it with her husband n have a meeting with me on thursday

:?: what the f*#k about? i know that they don't want me to get ghetto up in this piece...cuz techincally i am being nice now, but I gave my notice 2 weeks ago, so tecnically i can leave this friday and i will, if they don't stop trying to bargain and fix things

sometime;s you can't fix things and they can't fix me..I WANT TO QUIT..there are too many issues and I really need to go

it really should never be this hard to quit

A totally sweet deal, but if you are not feeling it, well you are just not feeling it.

I was just in a similar situation where I gave two weeks notice and then was made a counteroffer. It was tempting to stay--they were offering more money and different, more appealing responsibilites. But, I ultimately realized that the underlying reasons for my wanting to leave were not going to go away. The way they went about the whole counteroffer thing was really irriating to me though--I was approached by three different people each of whom I felt a lot of pressure from to make a quick decision. You are right...it just should not be that hard to leave.
