so the company from my last post ehh I blew it called. well, the hr lady asked who it was and I told her and she said good because she thought she mis dailed and then she said someone just came into her office could she call me back. So here I am almost an hour later waiting for her to call back. How long should I wait before I call her back?

She's probably not flaking out, but waiting for an answer about what the hiring department wants to do, waiting for paperwork, waiting on stuff. . . that's how it goes.

Yup, I would agree. It's a process and it usually involves several people, background checks, reference checks, etc.

Still doesn't mean anything. As I mentioned and will point out again, hiring is a process and can sometimes take WEEKS.

It didn't make any sense to me though. . . and still kinda doesn't as that was already stated.

Also, I was tired last night and had a few drinks so maybe it's just me. :p

If she was still waiting for stuff, why'd she call him in the first place? I suppose it could've been just to update him that they hadn't decided yet, but I don't think I've ever had someone from HR call me regarding a job I interviewed for just to say, "we haven't decided yet."

I've certainly called them and gotten that answer, but never when HR initiated the call.

That could certainly be it. I've had this happen many times, where they will call to say they want to offer me the position pending the outcome of my background check and references. From my professional experience, it takes on average 2 months from interview to actual start date to happen.

I guess that makes sense. I just got the impression from some of the posts that fearlesss shouldn't be expecting any information yet as the process takes a while, which, yes, it does.

What confused me is that HR called him. If they made the call, they must've had something to tell him. Maybe that they hadn't made the decision yet, but they weren't just calling to say, "hey, nice day out today, huh?" That's all I was getting at.

Okay, good point. I have no clue.
