Second Job

Ok, as most of you know, I'd like to work a second job. There's a new store opening in town, and the owner has been an aquaintance for many years-(her son and I went to the same daycare growing up). I also work at the same facility as her husband. I've been thinking that since my current work day ends at 2 pm, that if she'd need someone to help out I could a few hrs a day. There are many things I could do, such as watch th place if she'd need time off or miscellaneous things (possibly computer stuff as well :) The store's about to open soon. How do I bring it up, and should I do it now or wait a while?

I would just ask her. . . and I don't see an advantage to waiting. . . I'd do it now. If she doesn't need help immediately, she might have you in mind later if something else comes up.

I agree with Tinydancer. If you wait, she may go ahead and hire someone else, not knowing about your interest.
