Hey guys

I'm Australian and about to graduate from a law degree (in November - yay!).

I really want to come to the states to work (not necessarily in law), but to get a visa I have to have a job...does anyone know of the best job search websites that might be up my alley?

And does anyone have any tips on "Americanizing" my resume? I heard that there is a specific American style of resumes that differs from Australian job-hunting techniques.

I'd really appreciate any help!

Best job websites I have found (I'm currently unemployed living in nyc)

-idealist.org
-craigslist.org
-indeed.com
-monster.com

Is there a career services at your school? Would it help to get in touch with them? Or can you get in touch with any alums? Best of luck!

since ur a lawyer you might want to look into banks in new york. they're the biggest sponsors of employment visas in the nyc area.

your most probable option would be to join a multi national firm in Oz and look into transferring to their New York office.

I work for a large asset management firm here and many of the portfolio managers that I work with are based out of Sydney and the Wellington, NZ office. They keep hopping b/w Sydney, London and New York.
