Alright, I know it. Box wine is not suppose to be good but... come on.. you have to appreciate the ease of randomly walking into your kitchen on a Saturday morning and just wanting one glass of wine. Just turn the spout and there you have it.

Maybe its just me but glass of wine is the last thing on my mind saturday mornings. A good big old school Breakfast would rather hit the spot ;)

I'm not a big fan of drinking in the morning but at night, boxed wine in the refrigerator is definitely convenient, and cheaper than hard alcohol.

Actually, box wine's bad rep isn't wholly deserved, from a quality standpoint. the storage system with the airlock tap keeps opened wine good longer than a recorked bottle. I read this in some trade mag somewhere along the line (my dad makes wine).

I bought a box once that had a tiny little hole in it somewhere. I opened up my fridge the next day and the whole bottom was filled with wine. Ick.

It's like an adult's version of a juicebox. How cool is that!

Have you seen the mini boxed wines? They literally are juice boxes for wine drinkers. You can buy them at your local Cumberland Farms. Mmmmm...quality.

I'm not really into wine anyway, but the one time I tried to consume boxed wine I really couldn't do it. Took a couple of sips and then wondered why I was torturing myself so. I think I ended up handing it off to a friend and spent the rest of that frat party completely sober. Good times.

There actually are some good wines being sold in boxes these days, for exactly that reason. By preventing air from reaching the wine it can last for well over a month, whereas a recorked bottle won't last more than a couple days.

(Helpful hint: keep opened bottles of wine, even reds, in the fridge. It slows the reaction that makes it go bad and you can squeak another day or two of drinkability out of it) Although in my house an opened bottle of wine doesn't hang around long enough to go bad...
