So I went on an interview yesterday that seemed to go really, really well (I met with the manager, the HR director and the President of the company all individually and was there for over 3 hours). Well, I was just out getting a bite to eat with my husband and didn't hear my cell ring. When I got outside I had a message from the manager to call her back anytime this weekend, she really needed to talk to me. So I did. And I got her voicemail. I am sitting on pins and needles here, with my phone next to me like a giddy teenage girl waiting for a boy to call LOL.

I also have interviewed at several other places this week, but this one is closest to home and probably will pay me what I am asking for.

She called about 20 minutes ago!

She gave me a tentative offer which is making more $$$ than I am now with better benefits and really close to home :D :D :D .

She said she wanted to be sure to contact me on the weekend so I don't accept any other offers LOL.

I guess they are still waiting to get in touch with one of my references, as well.

I'm psyched because if anyone has been following my work-related threads over the past several months, this has been a huge stressor. Basically, I trusted someone who I thought was my friend, and left a stable job to go work where he did. Within a week of my being there, he was fired, and all the people he hired, quickly followed. New management was hired and we really cleaned up the program, however, we decided to "step down" and give up back in November because it had turned into a major political/bureacratic war with the state because of the stuff that had happened with the previous director.

Since that time, I've basically been hanging out at my job and getting paid, after they gave me several verbal promises (but nothing in writing!) that I'd have a new position. Well, that obviously never happened, and I've been panicking.

What made this even more of a nightmare was that we are in contract for our first house. If you don't have a job, they're not going to give you the mortgage, so we'd have been totally screwed, and also lost our hefty down-payment.

I feel like a huge weight has been lifted from my chest.
