In the Nevada caucus, Hillary beat Obama by a fair margin; Romney was a strong winner for the Republicans. McCain narrowly won the South Carolina Republican primary over Huckabee; the Democrats vote there next Saturday.

Hillary won 51% of the popular vote in Nevada to Obama's 45%, but the Nevada delegates are allocated around the state in such a way that Obama will actually get one more delegate than Hillary.
Romney picked up 51% of the vote in Nevada and the vast majority of delegates, much of which came from near-universal support from Mormons, who made up 25% of GOP caucus-goers yesterday. Coming in second was Ron Paul (14% to John McCain's 13%), which made news, but is less than surprising. Outstate Nevada has a strong libertarian bent.
John McCain won 33% of the vote in South Carolina to Mike Huckabee's 30%. Huckabee's won slightly less than half of the Christian conservative vote, which says a lot. Those voters were 60% of Republican primary voters yesterday. Romney and Fred Thompson also made strong showings in S.C.
Rudy Giuliani only won 2% of the vote in S.C., and was outpolled by Ron Paul. That was hilarious. Giuliani did not campaign in Nevada, and only won 4% of the vote there. John Edwards only won 4% in Nevada, so I fear John Boy may be on the brink of elimination. I don't like him anyway, so if he drops out, then I can support Obama. :)
Republican Congressman Duncan Hunter of California faired very poorly in both states, and announced he is dropping out of the race.
