The New York Times has a story discussing how John Mc Cain might have had an inappropriate relationship with a special interest lobbyist,, and thus possibly compromising his ethics. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/02/21/us/politics/21mccain.html?_r=2&pagewanted=1&hp&oref=slogin

Good grief... It's from 1999 and if it was something, then the Bush campaign would have used it back then. That SC primary had to be one of the nastiest ever and was why McCain and Bush spent the first part of 2001 (before 9/11) sniping at each other. It does suggest that McCain can get really wrapped up in his own mystique and can get into some situations that give off the appearance of impropriety.

Its not an issue. Its natural to have politicians who make ethically ambiguous moves and lie. It's part of being a politician in a democracy. You need to lie sometimes. It's happened in every major democracy and ones like this are no big deal.

Its good to go ahead and get this stuff out now so people can make an informed decision on their vote. I can't wait to see what else is going to come out, I rather know now than later.

A lot of people say that - hell Hillary is trying to score votes by saying Obama hasn't had the full attack from the Right yet so we don't know what may come out about him yet. Not sure if I buy that myself, but it is a news story if the Maverick has done some shady stuff involving lobbyists when he's the one always trying to paint himself as above it.

Now, I'm not sure if this is really going to be a key issue for myself when it comes to who I vote for though. Although its interesting I'm much more interested in their policy ideas - more like the discussions over at ondayone.org. I'm interested to see if anything actually comes out of that site.
