Has anyone here found federal work after filling out those time-consuming federal work resume/questionnaires online?

I've had two federal jobs, and several federal job offers, none of which stemmed from the aforementioned procedure.

I find they are a waste of time, would like to read your thoughts on related experience.

Thanks.

Yes, they are a waste of time unless you have a very specific match. Half the time I think they write the descriptions for people they already have in mind. I did qualifiy for a few positions in the past, but they ended up being closed without a fill.

I've gotten interview from them. Mind you that these were SA positions. I think a lot of it to determine how interest you are.

I have applied in the past and heard nothing back. Now, I am applying again, but this time I am also in touch with a recruiter by e-mail (who happens to be the most considerate, responsive recruiter I've ever come across) so I get e-mails from the recruiter and incomprehensible computer-generated gibberish e-mails from the government. I might have a phone interview coming up.
