I've been in LA for about 2 months now and after sending about 150 resumes both via snail mail and email. I've gotten no replies no emails on calls nothing......
But
When I googled my full name the first hit I got was my facebook page!
What’s so odd about this is that my facebook page is almost never used and about a year old I never updated it and it doesn’t even have a photo of myself it's completely blank. I only used it to talk to some current students who attended some universities that I was interested in.

So is it possible that my potential employers took the time to check out my page and just decided not to have an interview. Has this ever happened to anyone else?

Also does anyone know where to search for museum and or fabrication jobs I kind of what to lean towards my major (BFA) I have previous experience as an art framer but it’s little good out here for some reason but at this rate I’ll take whatever I can get.
Retail here I come!

Chances are the potential employers are not even looking at your resume, let alone "googling" you. Especially if you are just sending out form resumes w/o cover letters.

Sorry if the rant is a little hard to follow I was in a bad mood And yes I have a cover letter ( I always send a cover letter)
I’m freelancing off and on at this prototyping place and I’m doing some telemarketing work. It has gotten me by so far. But the only reason how I landing those two jobs is because I KNEW someone, not because of my resume and or cover letter.
I’ll admit I have been selective about where to apply but I have been persistent and attentive to many opportunities that may have arisen. I’m just astonished by the lack of
interest I have received after so many resumes/cover letters but on the flip side my inactive-for-over-a-year facebook page is so popular all of the sudden. With my freelance job winding down soon I’m a little worried about the prospect of doing telemarketing full time.
So sorry to mislead you with my previous post

Just because your facebook profile came up first doesn't mean your potential employers have been googleing you like crazy. The size of facebook itself coupled with an exact match for your first name makes it the first hit for a lot of people. If anything, your lack of an extensive facebook page would generally be an asset to seeking employment [ie the kids who put up a million drunk photos of themselves aren't going to be very appealing to future employers]. Anyway.........getting a job in the arts industry is difficult. I have a BFA as well and am probably looking for similar type jobs and I've been sending out lots of resumes as well with little luck [i was starting to wonder if there were any other BFAers on here]. If you don't get a job through someone you know it's hard since there are so many people going for so few jobs.
