Commute vs Dream Job

Hello,

Right now, my commute is pretty sweet.. 5 mins. But I hate my job!! I feel that I've outgrown the company and I am itching to leave to pursue other opportunities where I can grow.

My question is, how far would you go for a dream job? My commute before now was about 30-45 mins. and I hated it!

Any advice will be appreciated!!

For me it really depends on the commute type. If I'm cruising along an interstate with little to no traffic, I might drive an hour. Right now I drive 45 minutes in moderate traffic and it's manageable unless the weather is poor. I wish my commute was somewhere around 20 minutes. If my commute was 45 min in bumper to bumper, I'd go insane. I would take public transportation for an hour since I can disengage my brain.

I went from a 15min commute to 20 - 40 depending on traffic.

When you work a job you love, the commute really isnt as big a factor. When you hate your job, anything related to it that makes your day longer or not as easy, is a huge deal.

I really don't like my job and I commute about 45min-1hr to work. It is absolute torture. However, I think that if I had a job I really loved then it wouldnt be a big deal. One thing that does help me is audio books. It makes the time go by so much faster!
