I've been going through the interview process with a company in a far-off state. First I had an informal phone interview with a couple of the people in the office where I'd be working. Then they sent me a written test to complete. Then they called to arrange a phone interview with a higher-up in the parent office in California, which I had last Thursday. I'd been fairly optimistic about the process until that interview, and now I'm having doubts. It wasn't a terrible interview, but I definitely feel like I could have done better.

Nevertheless, I still want the job. I think at this point the ball is back in the court of the people at the first office. I was thinking I should send a thank you note to the California person, since that's what you're supposed to do after an interview. Then it occurred to me that I'd never sent a thank you to the other people, although I've had more ongoing communication with them than I have with the higher-up.

What's the best course of action now? Send a thank you to California? I've only communicated with her via e-mail and phone, but is it more appropriate to send it regular mail? And can I just type up a quick letter, or should I actually go get a generic thank you note? Or at this point does it make more sense to just follow up with the other office?

Hand write thank you's to all those that you have spoken with by phone and EMail helping you with the interview process. They probably talk to one another, and its in good form.

Ive had interviews similar to yours where many people have been involved. At times Ive had to write 5 or more Thank you notes.

I personally like sending out thank you cards in my own handwriting ...
