I'm almost embarassed to say that I signed up for online survey's the other day. I am up to $5.50 by which you can't even redeem until you make at LEAST $30. Good luck with that! Of that, I got $5 just for creating an account. I was only able to complete one measly survey. All my answers on other potential booted me out because the survey is looking for a certain type of person for each one. Then you are supposed to read e-mails for money. But you don't read anything...it directs you to another website where you have to create accounts and give out your mailing address or even card info (eBay for example). I really think it is a big waste of time.

But we all knew that...

Sounds like they're trying to get you to sell your own information to go on mailing lists. I'll go without the "free lunch", thanks :p

Ugh, online survey sites are rough—it’s always hard to figure out which ones are legit and which ones are scams.

If it helps, I’ve had good luck with Cash Crate (http://cashcrate.com/480479). It doesn’t pay much per offer—usually less than $1.00 or so—but they don’t take long and it adds up if you put enough time into it.

You’ll get spammed like crazy, but I just set up a separate e-mail account just for this so I never see any of it. :)
