why do people feel the need to say 'you've gone bright red!' when you get embarassed for whatever reason and go bright red?!
a) is it because they think the embarrassed person isn't aware that their face is lighting up the room and also stopping nearby traffic at the same time?! i'm sure they are!
b) is it because they think other people may not have noticed the intense heat and glare being emitted? No, it can't be that - they have already reached for the air con switch to cool the place down.
c) is it a chronic stating-the-obvious condition? are these the same people who go outside in a storm and say 'hey, look - its raining'? perhaps.
d) are they evil, insecure critters who just want to add to your suffering, as though the original cause of the embarassment wasn't enough for them to enjoy?! Ah..i think i just hit the nail on the head!

i'm not easily embarassed, but i do go red in uncomfortable situations, so i get this a lot, and believe me, you know when your face goes red! So i guess its just a pet hate. And i'm bored, so i thought i'd put this out there for your thoughts.... have a good monday....

I think its more "Hey, I noticed that you are embarassed...and I'm amused by that."

How ironic! My co-workers surprised me with a cake today for my birthday and of course when I walked into the boardroom and they were all in there staring at me, breaking out into 'Happy Birthday', I turned bright red and they all felt the need to tell me, as if I didn't know! I hate that!

Actually for me there has been a time or two that I didn't realize I went red. But yes most of the time you know exactly when you go red and I don't know why people feel the need to bring it up.

It's amusement.

I laughed at myself when I blush or turn beet red every now and then.

There's no ill intent. (Personally, I think it's adorable - the blushing or the turning red part)

It's funny because I wonder about this all the time!!!!

I always just think there are 2 kinds of people in the world when it comes to this, people who know when to keep their mouth shut and those that don't...something to do with tact I guess.

I also find it similar with me when people point out that I'm short/small...like thanks, I never noticed???!!

Anybody who falls outside a norm gets noticed, though. My height is taller than average, and that's always gotten comments (also the red-face thing, I'm very pale, and flush very easily). I just figure people are trying to make conversation, and pointing out whatever's noticeable is the easiest way to do that.
