I am about to graduate with a computer engineering degree. in August...I have been searching for a job and not even gotten an interview. I don't know where to go from here. I am scared I will have to move back in with my parents and have to take some minimum wage job. I don't really know what I want to do with my life but that is not it! I am starting to regret all the decisions I made in school I never had an internship and didn't study as much as I could have so my grades aren't that great. Also, I feel like this was my time to do really crazy and fun things and I haven't done much! And basically I am sick of people telling me computer enginnering you'll find a job no problem! Well, I have been looking and the jobs just aren't as pleantiful as these people think....Either that or just all the recruiters hate me! Well, if anyone has any advice I would appreciate it.

1. Look for a temp agency that specializes in placing people with your skills

2. Apply to any company regardless of if there is an opening or not.

3. Let everyone know you are looking for a job. Tell your friends. teacher's, friend's parents, etc.

4. Monster.com, hotjobs.com, headhunter.com. Put your resume on these job sites.

5. Look for anything that makes ends meet right now. Even if you are in a job you don't like, you can still keep looking for the perfect job.

6. Does your school have a career center? They maybe able to help.

Trust me...I work at a staffing firm and I've had people in the same situation.

Just don't give up! Your first job might not be your ferfect match but it's just a path and experiece to get you there. Also, the economy is picking up so there would be more jobs opening up over the summer.

Good luck!

The IT Job Market is terrible right now. There are many individuals with years of experience and expertise, out of work. Unfortunately, graduating seniors are competiting for positions with seasoned professionals for entry level positions.
