Holy shit - I am new aged. I never realized that. I just asked a bunch of people at work and they confirmed it. Is it the palm pilot, the rock climbing, the travel, and the internet stuff? or was it the religious beleifs that brought you to that conclusion Jen? I guess I always thought of new-aged as people that have power rocks and stuff.

Wow - I'm new aged. You're right. I never new that about me. Scary...

I'm not trying to sound condescending - I just never realized that.

your "life philosophy" comes through on your posts layback. i think that is what brought on the new age award.

i think i will award myself the "desperate for recognition award" since all i want is for someone else to give me an award. HA!

It was the spiritual, philosophic stuff...and the searching for truth and enlightened names. I never took anything you said as condescending...I meant it in a complementary way.

Jen - I know that you meant it as a compliement. I took it as one - I just never really picked up on that about myself and I didn't want to sound negative in my response.

Okay - so I was overthinking things. I NEVER do that. :D LOL

OMG....I CAN"T BELIEVE IT... ok ok ok ok... i'd like to thank all those without whom my quarter life crisis would have never been possible. first my family, for instilling false beliefs about what my life would be, not teaching me money management skills, and not giving me any sort of spiritual upbringing. all my teachers for allowing me to suceed so easily & thereby causing me to believe that i would be a sucess in the real world as well. my friends for entertaining & encouraging my bitching and moaning, & my boyfriends for making me really confused about how to conduct a normal relationship..... and last, and most important, all the qlc'rs who read my posts (especially pices.)

Fine! I don't want an award, but I want a nomination 'cause that's what counts! ;)

Okay...Can I get an nominated for having 120 pairs of shoes? They are not Jimmy Choos or Manolo Blahniks but still...

kitalyn414

"Empress of Accessories!"

Densel
02-26-2004, 07:49 PM
Yep 120 pairs...I know that's scary. I have an obsession; shoe fetish. That's why I don't have a roommate. I need the extra space for my shoes!!!

The sad part is that I don't like to give my shoes away 'cause I always think..."what if I need it someday?" So they keep piling up.

If my apartment catches on fire, I aint leaving until I get all my shoes out. IT'S A SICKNESS! :(

that is me, but with the jewelry and purses. i sold a few purses on ebay back at christmas time and my fiance got me the louis vuitton purse that all the stars have. i worked at a jewerly store for 7 yrs so we got a nice deal on my engagement ring.

what kind of shoes do you have densel?? i am a boot lover for winter though. i have had my most favorite pair for like 5 yrs.

Anything stilettos! Pumps, strappy sandals, Mary-Janes, Boots, etc.

Different brands - Charles Davids, BeBe, BCBG, Guess, Michele K, Via Spiga, ALDO...I usually shop at outlets or warehouses (DSW, Broadway shoes) or www.zappos.com so I always get a good deal. Sometimes I buy a pair of shoes in different colors.

Once in a while I splurge a bit and spend a lot if I know I can wear the shoe all year round, come summer or winter.

I've been looking for a nice pair of pink strappy stilettos but I haven't fund any I like.

Urrrgh!

Hey kimmer,

when I lived in Baltimore, I use to shop at this shoe store on North Charles street called FETISH. They have the sexist shoe collection.

Every week when I went to class (University of Baltimore), I drove pass that store and always stopped there. By the end of the semester I was on first name basis with the salesperson.

Good times, good times!!!

I love COACH stuff! There's an outlet near me and I go "stock" up every once in awhile. They are just so classy looking and timeless. Very me :)

02-26-2004, 09:06 PM
yeah i LOVE coach! dooney and bourke too. i have a few of the it bags. i got a dooney and bourke planner for christmas from alan (my fiance) and i love it!

you went to univ of balto densel? i was going to go there after community college, but wound up going to umbc (univ of maryland, baltimore county--just because they had my major there) my friend goes to grad school there now though. which african country are you froma again? i dont remember which country... i knew a lot of people in school from nigeria. all the students from there were really beautiful and had really pretty accents as well. there were a lot of people i went to school with from nigeria. my french teacher was from morocco (did i spell that right? i rely on spell check too much!).

i love shoes too, but usually only spend like $30-60 on shoes. i can be a real flip flop junky in the summertime! hehe!

Kimmer...

I'm from NIGERIA. Yeah, I went for my grad program at the University of Baltimore from 2000 to 2002 (Merrick School of Business).

I sometimes miss Balitmore! Downtown Harbor was fun! But I'm a CA girl so I had to move back after I finished school.

I was there during the whole DC Sniper fiasco! It was a scary period.

OK. I know this is a little late (since all of a sudden we're talking about shoes), but I just had to tell Kitalyn that I LOVED her acceptance speech. It was very very clever...and absolutely hilarious!

I liked KITA's post detailing every aspect of disillusion with young adult life - very funny!!

Were you at the Oscars yesterday KITA!? It was insane - I was in the press area.

They were serving filet mignon and tuna with mango sauce, ginger ale, etc - all the plastic tan, cakey make-up media people were chowing down...
in the corner was the Reuters (Euro TV) crew, pale, skinny, smoking cigarettes, cussing, and drinking beer!

I had whole new love for Reuters at that moment.

OF COURSE I WAS NOT THERE!!! what do you think i am, valuable? it's not like i worked on a film that recieved nominations or anything.

i boycotted the oscars for the most part. instead i watched my netflix.

i give jku the "VIP" award for being in the press mosh pit at the oscars. good times!

... too late to speak shoes? (NAH - NEVER!!!)

HOW did I grow 1/2 a shoe size ... and out of ALL my shoes in the last 6 months? Is an evil stroke of injustice :(

Seren,
Not to alarm you, but sometimes enlarging of the hands or feet can be a sign of an endocrine problem, primarily of the pituitary gland.
