punk show

my friend just informed me that we are going to a punk show tonight. i would like you all to know that i am currently wearing a sweater vest over my plain white dress shirt & gap jeans. what on earth should i wear to a punk show?!?!?!

i think i am going to stick out like a dorky sore thumb. lol!

i know this is a little late, but for future reference, i would go with a baby tee, oversized jeans, anything with spikes (a spike braclet, chains, or a choker necklace). do something to make you hair look different, highlight with a bright color, or go with the "watered" look (like you jsut got out of a shower). eye shadow and eye liner are a must. a large saftey pin is acceptable, basically anything out of the ordinary, loud and with metal is good. don't forget the eyeliner, leather works too. oh yeah and boots... definately black boots, preferribly steel toes.

thanks for the tips... i ended up convincing my friend not to go. instead we went to an upscale restaurant/bar with an AMAZING view of LA. we had wine & good conversation there before moving to a cozy little bar where my friend's s.o. is the bartender & we could drink for free. hooray!

rumor has it that the show was bad anyway. apparently it was all ages and all our other friends felt super old amongst all those teenagers.

one of the major things you do not do when dressing for a punk show is to look like you tried too hard. A white shirt & jeans is fine. Put on lots of makeup if you wear it. Black shoes/boots with a heel. No one really cares, but people will stare @ you if you look like you're trying to impress... :-)
