I received the call today from the Director of the Special Investigations Unit in my company. Despite the fact that I erroneously received a rejection letter on Monday, I was offered the job of Special Investigator today. It's an exciting position, and the Director explained that based on my past results at work and my outstanding interview, I would make a very talented analyst/investigator. I transfer to that department on November 15th.
I'm pretty excited. It was a big boost for the weekend.:heehee:
congratulations, what exactly does the job involve? Sounds promising.

I work for a very large insurance company. The Special Investigations Unit investigates fraudulent claims - particularly for property claims (arson, intentional auto accident rings, intentional damage, etc...) but also for other lines like non-auto liability and even workman's comp. My title is Special Investigator, and I will be doing not only investigative but analytical work as well. Our company recently spent millions on a new pattern recognition/detection software that I will be trained on. My start date is November 15th, as I will have to transition out of my current department and probably train my replacement.
Monday is my second anniversary with the company, and they have been good to me. I had stellar numbers for this year (our year runs from Oct. 1st to Sept. 30th), and that will entitle me to a nice bump in pay in January. The SIU is a pretty sought-after gig in our company because the work is "sexy". I'm pretty pumped.
