View Full Version : Anxiety about moving

I'm 23, graduated from college in 2007. I lived on my own for about 9 months, then came back to live with family for about a year. I'm employed, etc, but I needed to be at home for some support.

Now I'm looking to get out on my own. I'm looking for apartments, but for financial and social reasons, I decided that I should get roommates. Hence the craigslist hunt begins.

While I've found some good places, and emailed some potentially good people, I'm incredibly anxious about all of this, about moving, about getting to know new people, about moving in with strangers.

Anyone have advice? Or has anyone been in a similiar situation? I know people do this all the time, but my anxiety today is ridiculous. Want to share promising stories?

Thanks!!

I went thru similar if not same situation.

It takes time getting used to: cooking, shopping for food, being lonely sometimes, being bored sometimes even depressed due to lack of social interaction, being stressed over new responsibilities, etc

I would not recommend moving in with a random person. If that person moves out, you're responsible for the rest of the lease!! my friend moved in with someone he found on craigslist and 1 month later found out he was a cokehead.

so be careful. i would def not recommend moving in with strangers.
