I went over to BF's house last night, partly because otherwise we weren't going to see each other that day, and partly to get away from my meow meow meoooowing cat that's going in to the vet to get fixed as soon as I have money I swear because I can't take it any longer.

BF's little dog likes me, possibly because we first encountered each other when he was hungry and I brought treats. This dog has a reputation for not liking anybody, and curled up on my lap within a few minutes of meeting me. (The cats like BF better than most other humans too, so at least that's balanced. Next step will be getting the cats and dog to like each other.)

However...it seems that the dog likes my sandals even better. I was dumb enough to leave them where even a dachshund could reach them, on the floor, and BF found one of them across the room, bearing several chew marks, in the morning. Oddly enough, it was the one where a strap had already pulled loose, so maybe the dog likes me so much that he picked out the shoe that was already obviously on its way out anyway. The other one was fine.

They were under $20, about 4 years ago, so I don't think I'll insist on the dog owing me a new pair of sandals.

Is there a question in there? Do you want advice on whether or not your bf owes you the money for them?

Not that you asked, but have you looked into spay/neuter programs in your area? Some shelters, like the SPCA and the Humane Society, offer really cheap spaying/neutering on certain days of the week.

Just throwing the story out there for whoever might find it amusing. There's been too much shortfusedness around here lately and I thought something that doesn't require being taken super seriously would make a nice change.

Already working on it. Up to now I've had trouble getting things to line up so that I had even that much money and the time to deal with it at the same time. Now...if it's the last thing I do before work starts up...or if I have to take a half day off to take them in...Panther IS going to stop driving me crazy.
Today I had two eggs for breakfast. Scrambled, fried, or sunny side up?
