Does anyone have a Macbook by Apple? I am looking into buying one soon. Is it worth the money? Is it a good laptop?
Or if you could please suggest some good laptops to buy...Thanks

We have this one:
Mac Book (http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=white+macbook&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&cid=13188848887971591949&ei=LHbzSvTwI4zFlAfiiOm2Aw&sa=X&oi=product_catalog_result&ct=result&resnum=4&ved=0CCAQ8wIwAw#ps-sellers)
We paid 1/3 the new price because we bought it online, used, with some damage. It's now running as a powerful, professional-level desktop.
This is an excellent computer. I can run the full Adobe suite easily - not so on Windows, without memory hiccups. Since it has a unix core, I can leave it on for days and it's very stable.
My only complaint is as a laptop, the keys are too small and too close together. I have that complaint about all mac laptops. I would run any of them as a desktop instead. I will probably be ordering a Mac mini soon as well.
Always make sure you get an Intel core Mac, BTW. The above-mentioned is a fine computer. It's not even new model and it handles multiple applications very nicely. BTW, we run it off a central Windows-based server. Yes, we are that nerdy. It always synchs up well.

Yup, I'm typing from one. :)
I got the 13 inch Macbook last year. It was my first-ever Mac from Apple (ordered directly on the website). It was more expensive then and was priced at $1,200, but it's down to $999 now. Was it worth the money? I thought it was expensive, but it was worth it because I had specific needs for it. It's almost a year old and it's still working great. If this lasts me at least 3-5 years, then it's an even more resounding yes.
There were a few reasons I was willing to invest in it: 1) I've been wanting to do some specific video/photography work (side hobby/interest), and it didn't work well on my old (unreliable) laptop. 2) My then Gateway laptop had died on me after only 2.5 years or so, and I wanted something that's high quality and more durable (because I don't want to replace it often) 3) I was interested in taking a class which required Mac background. 4) People at work use Mac and it was in my professional interest to know it.
I love the MacBook. The system itself has never crashed on me. There's no blue-screen-of-death. I haven't gotten any viruses. I've never had a Mac (and the last time I used a Mac was in middle school), so the initial adjustment took a couple of days. It seems strange initially (where's the C drive?), but then everything else was great once I figured everything out.
If the only thing you really need is the Office Suite and/or the Internet, you don't really need a Mac. If that's the criteria I'm looking at, I would just get one of the mini-laptops for $300 or so. They're easy to carry around and I think those are very handy - especially for traveling.
Happy shopping!
